YOUR CART
Curriculum is different for each grade level but
all health
classes have one thing in common
. They all start the term
learning about
s
tress and strategies to relieve it
. Each class begins with
one of the following "Do Nows". Students are encouraged
to practice one, or many, of these behaviors outside of
class when they face a stressful situation.
Mondays
Deep breathing
Tuesday
Muscle relaxation
Wednesday
Compliments and kindness. Student's share good things
they have done to strengthen their social health, or they
compliment a classmate. We discuss how having a good
social network helps in stressful situations.
Thursdays
Exercise and stretching
Fridays
Students follow a guided meditation for 4-10 minutes that
varies depending on the age of the students (see Guided meditations page)
